The Naval Institute of Technology (NIT) proudly celebrated its 23rd anniversary on 01st August 2025, marking over two decades of excellence in professional artificer training. In view of celebrating this milestone, many events were organized by the crew of NIT, such as sports activities, Shramadhana, and a Bodhi Pooja for spiritual blessings.
Among the highlights were a cricket tournament and a series of volleyball matches, where the senior sailors demonstrated outstanding skill and teamwork emerging as champions in both events.
As part of the commemorations, a Shramadhana was conducted to clean the premises of Chandrajothi Vidyalaya in Elapitiwala. This meaningful effort was warmly welcomed and deeply appreciated by both the school staff and the local community, reflecting NIT’s continued commitment to civic responsibility.
In a spiritual gesture, a Bodhi Pooja Pinkama was also held to invoke blessings upon the institute and its personnel promoting unity, reflection, and gratitude among the NIT community.
Upholding a cherished tradition, the Badakana ceremony took place on the anniversary day, solemnly led by the Director of Studies, Captain (L) SSH Bandara. All officers participated in formal procession, symbolising respect for naval heritage and continuity.
