ANOTHER VICTORY FOR NIT
The Sri Lanka Naval Ship Thakshila proudly celebrated its 18th anniversary on 28th September 2025, marking nearly two decades of dedicated service. To commemorate the occasion, several events were organised, including an inter-departmental cricket tournament held on 13th September 2025 at the NIT playground.
The tournament, graced by the Commanding Officer Sri Lanka Naval Ship Thakshila, Captain (ASW) NACC Munasinghe, brought together both officers and sailors in a spirited display of talent and teamwork. The matches highlighted discipline, camaraderie, and determination, reflecting the values that define naval life.
After a series of competitive games, the NIT crew emerged victorious, earning a well-deserved win. Petty Officer (DI) DMNS Disanayake was recognised as the Best Cricketer of the Tournament for his outstanding performance and remarkable contribution to the team’s success.
