The Naval Institute of Technology (NIT), the premier artificer training center of the Sri Lanka Navy, proudly welcomed its 26th intake on 30th March 2026
After a rigorous selection process involving physical tests, interviews, and a comprehensive screening of many applications, 41 exceptional candidates were enlisted. The new batch includes 13 women trainees, with the remainder being male. Notably, the intake comprises 17 fresh civilian trainees alongside 19 qualified recruits who had already joined the Navy, bringing a valuable blend of fresh enthusiasm and prior naval basic training.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the NIT Auditorium on 30th March 2026 and was graced by the Director Naval Personnel, Commodore TMD. Leelarathna, as the Chief Guest. Following his inspiring address, all parents of the newly enlisted trainees, along with officers, joined for a fellowship breakfast together at the NIT General Mess.
